HALLE & DARSH

BELIEF #1

HOME is a living relationship that can grow into a living sanctuary.

It holds our stories, memories, and imprints, reflects what matters to us, and evolves through everyday attention and care.  A place to rest, nourish, create, connect, and grow – and to prepare for the life we meet beyond the front door.

BELIEF #2

Everyone deserves a space that nourishes their life.

We help people create spaces that honor their bodies, nervous systems, daily rhythms, work, responsibilities, dreams, and what they hold sacred.

BELIEF #3

Sacred space can support Embodied Living.

Embodied living means being present in your body and in your relationships – recognizing your own needs, listening to those of your loved ones, and allowing that awareness to guide your everyday choices and the care you offer to yourself and others.

OUR STORY

THE DARSHWOODS

Two four-leaf clovers.

Two stars in the sky.

And one hammock.

Some stories begin with a plan. Ours began with a timeless pause. We each said yes to the same meditation retreat – two lives arriving from different coordinates, seemingly by chance. We met for what felt like the first time, with the quiet sense that something extraordinary was unfolding between us. And so our adventure began.

After our weekend together ended, our connection continued to deepen across the 900 miles between us. We started sharing practices, stories, and life experiences that had shaped us. Along the way, Halle guided Richard in creating an altar in his HOME – a devotional place of return.

What had been a place to drop his keys or kick off his shoes after a long day became a space filled with meaningful objects, each holding its own significance within the altar’s collective story. It became a place of both arrival and return—a place to meet the day ahead with curiosity, gratitude, and renewed energy. As the day came to a close, it offered space to fully exhale, reflect, and recharge. Through this rhythm, the altar became part of how he entered the day and how he released it.

For Halle, creating sacred space had grown from her own search for refuge beyond her yoga mat. Through listening inward, she began discovering what it felt like to be at HOME within herself and within the environments she inhabited in her day-to-day life. Sharing this with Richard invited him to explore his own relationship with HOME—a relationship we now continue to nurture together in our shared HOME in New Albany, Indiana.

This became part of a larger exploration: How can the spaces we inhabit support the lives we are living? How can we honor the stories that shaped us while authoring a new story together? What helps each of us feel at HOME? How can a shared HOME honor our individual rhythms while nurturing the rhythm of our relationship? In this season of our lives, what are we ready to welcome, and what might we need to release?

These questions continue to shape our HOME and the philosophy at the heART of Conscious Arts Inner Design. Through this exploration, we have come to understand design as a healing art – creating spaces that nurture energetic flow guided by each person’s unique rhythms and way of life. HOME is a living relationship – a living ecosystem we nurture through intention, attention, and the everyday rhythms we share.

Each day, and in the small moments between, we are learning what it means to create energetic harmony in our HOME. Sometimes that means making room for connection; other times, honoring a need for solitude. It also means tending to the practical details of daily life – preparing meals, sharing responsibilities, caring for our space, and making time for rest, reflection, play, and creation. Our ritual of cleansing and blessing includes our HOME blessing prayer, through which we offer gratitude and renew our intentions for the space. These intentions reflect what we hope our HOME will hold and nurture in the season of life we are moving through. Through these everyday acts of care and devotion, we explore how our surroundings and rhythms can support our wellbeing, our partnership, and our relationships with those closest to us.

Our story is still unfolding as we create a life and a HOME together. Through shared moments of quiet, play, and creation, and the everyday care we offer each other, sacred space becomes part of how we live. We continue to discover what nourishes us, individually and together, and how our HOME can support that. For us, this is an expression of devotion—the gentle art of growing together and allowing our HOME to evolve alongside us.

Welcome into the sacred unfolding of our shared life – where space meets intention, intention becomes rhythm, and HOME becomes a living sanctuary.
